Memorial Box Monday - Remembering

Remember awhile ago I wrote that I wanted to find a way to help our family remember the things that God has done for us? Here was the original post.

Psalm 78:4 says,
"We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done."

It is amazing how easy it is to forget who God is and the ways He has helped, provided, and worked in OUR lives. He is not just the God of an old book, or in the lives of great people... He is living, working and just as amazingly wonderful today and the lives of people all around us.

God explains that forgetting is one of the reasons people fall away from Him and a main reason their children do. Busyness is no excuse... we are told to remember daily, in all activities and circumstances of our life in Deuteronomy 5 and 6.

So we unveiled our family "Ebenezer."

Taken from 1 Samuel 7:12...
"Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far has the LORD helped us.”

We are naming our memorial box that, because like the standing stone, it is proof of how the Lord has helped us. (Plus, we just like to say Ebenezer :-)

Here's our box... we pray that the Lord gives us many reasons to fill it full up to overflowing with proof of His amazing works in our lives!

GO BIG GOD!

The Brown Sugar Verse!

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

~ Luke 6:38

Note: The Memorial Box Monday is from A Place Called Simplicity

I'll start it all up with a Memory next week!!! It's a good one!
