We want you to know...

Joyfully we want to tell you, all our friends, near and far, something you’ve most likely been expecting…

WE ARE EXPECTING!

Our family is growing yet again!

Honestly, it feels like we are telling you we are starting out to “try to have more”… and that, normally would be fairly inappropriate, don’t you think?

No one wants those details.

But, no we aren’t pregnant… but we are expecting.

This time around we think it is quite appropriate to share we are trying to have another baby, because we aren’t adding to our family through the typically expected means.

Nope…

We’re adopting!

This is something we have honestly thought about for a several years, prayed about for 1 whole year and intended on waiting three or five years longer to do, but God, in all His sovereignty has laid it on both Tim and my heart, at the same time and even gone so far as to confirm it multiple ways.

We are going forward… after much prayer and seeking the Lord, but know in the deepest parts of our hearts this is EXACTLY what God has asked of us, right now, where we stand.

Not long ago I posted this scripture…

Proverbs 24:12

"Once our eyes are opened

we can't pretend we don't know what to do.

God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls,

knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act."

A few people have asked us, “Why would you want to adopt?” It is an honest question and our honest answer is… We want to parent more children. Plain and simple. That is really all there is to it and if we didn't feel lead to adopt then we'd probably be making a different, yet similar announcement right now. We realize there is a more "traditional" way to go about being parents again, but as we stated above, God has also laid some things on our hearts that we can't ignore and God has also allowed 2 ways to go about adding children to families.

We both feel like adoption is something God has continued to bring us back to over and over and over. At times we have flat out ignored it. It is easy to ignore orphans when they don’t live next door to you (we are right there with you). But, we have found it is fairly difficult to work with the children we do (at CBX) and still ignore the evident needs of parentless children.

We ask for your support! Mainly emotionally and spiritually, knowing that we have an Enemy that desires nothing more than to keep orphans as orphans because the family is God’s plan for shaping little hearts into His image. Satan knows that if he can rob a child the opportunity to have a loving earthly relationship with a mother and father they’ll be less likely to experience the love of their Heavenly Father! So please pray for us, our future children and the events that must occur to bring them home.

Currently we are getting our home study done and seeking the Lord in the next steps we should take. We feel firmly that He has ordained from the beginning of time the children that are our sons and daughters… now, we just need to let Him lead us to them. We are still learning, seeking wise counsel and praying for God’s direction. We are more aware than anything that this is GOD’S DEAL… not our own!

We love you all and thank you for walking beside us and welcoming this new life into your hearts along with us!

The Miller Family… all of us!

So I saw your post while researching adoptions through Uganda. What caught my eye in your pictures was not just the love but also a backdrop to a picture from Durango, CO. I'm curious if you worked with a specific agency in Colorado for your adoptions. We are looking at Love Beyond Borders and are just in the first stages of deciding whether to keep pursuing domestic adoption or go the international route. I would appreciate any info about who you worked with to help us with this decision making process. Thank you! Kristen
