Being Transformed

Two weeks down…seven to go.

Summer and camp are a sweet time in our year. Every spring we work hard, prepare all for the first day that campers arrive…and all the subsequent ones as well.  It is filled with anticipation! I was contemplating that we are so privileged to experience the fullness of what spring and summer are. We eat watermelon every day and s’mores every night! We get to see children fish for the first time, feed an infant lamb from a bottle, camp, and play until they drop at dusk.  We lay on the grass and run through sprinklers, swing from “trees” and can spend a day at the lake any day we choose.  We are blessed!  Still thinking, I can’t believe how easily we take all these joys for granted. We get stuck with bad attitudes, let tiredness drag us down, get wrapped up in busyness and end up forgetting about the things God plants all around us that proclaims His amazing, never ending, awe inspirering love and delight in us! It is kind of like a father trying to give a child a bite of ice cream and they are choosing to eat the dirt in the sand box instead…

This summer we have been blessed! We see children learn, grow and come to a clearer knowledge of God DAILY! We experience that change in our own LIVES! We live in a community with others that sharpen and grow us to be more like our JESUS! We are challenged to be more than we THINK we can be! We find God in the most unusual PLACES! We are TRANSFORMED! “And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18
