Thoughts on Christmas in the Car

In the car we were driving along and Cora said, "I think Dod (God) will give us presents this year for Tristmas!"

Everyone thought about this for awhile.

Addie said, in her wise older sister way, "You know, most people think Santa Claus brings kids presents."

Eli said, "I think you are right Cora, God will bring us a present!... I think He will bring us grace."

At that one word my heart skipped a beat.
It might have just been a childish moment of "Jesus-isms"... (A logical biblical answer to a question with more depth.)

But in my heart I know that God directed that little conversation just for me.
To remind me of what I already know, but easily tend to forget.

This season God is giving us a gift... just like he has for the last 2000-ish Christmas'.
He has given us the gift of grace in the person of Jesus Christ.
He gave what we didn't have, so that we could gain what only he could obtain.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." ~ Ephesians 2:8
